Factual

Botanically known as ‘Juglans Nigra’, American Black Walnut is widely distributed throughout North America. It grows mostly in riparian zones, from southern Ontario, west to southeast South Dakota, south to Georgia, northern Florida and southwest to central Texas.

Visibly, American Black Walnut is distinguishable by appearance with a rich deep brown to purplish-black colour.

Usage

We enjoy working with American Black Walnut. It works easily either by hand or machine, holding paint and stain remarkably well – it can also be polished to achieve an exceptional finish.

You will find that we use American Black Walnut for high-class joinery products including stairs, internal doors and flooring.

Customer Advice

American Black Walnut is a tough, hard timber of medium density and is ideal for high-class internal joinery. Our friendly and professional team of experts are happy to discuss if American Black Walnut is suitable for your joinery requirements.
