Internal doors are a regular request here at Applewood Joinery. They can really bring the interior of your home to life and transform your living space.
Different Styles
There are a few styles our customers usually go for. Glazed doors let light through while keeping rooms separate. Solid doors are classic and give you privacy, whilst flat panel doors are simple and modern with clean lines. We can make any style fit your home, or match your existing doors, and are always happy to discuss options.

Glass Options
For doors with glass panels we use toughened glass, usually 4 to 6mm thick. It is strong, safe and lets light flow through without compromising durability. Glass doors are great if you want to brighten up rooms or let light move through the house. Occasionally, some glass is frosted on customers request (as you can see above).
Timber Choices
Most of our doors are made from tulipwood or oak. These timbers are strong, look great and built to last, making them perfect for internal doors. We rarely use other hardwoods because they are mainly for external work, where their durability is needed. We also rarely use Accoya because of the cost and it isn’t really necessary for internal doors. Every piece of timber is carefully selected so the door feels solid, works properly and looks right in the home.
Picking finish
The finish makes a big difference to how your door looks and feels. Most internal doors are finished natural, stained, oiled, or painted to suit the room. A good finish not only makes the door look right but also protects the timber so it lasts. At Applewood Joinery we make sure the finish is applied properly, giving you a door that looks great and works perfectly for years to come.
