Sustainability matters because the joinery in your home should be made to last, not replaced every few years. When materials are chosen carefully and made well, they reduce waste, save money over time and are kinder to the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choosing Our Timber Responsibly<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Every piece of timber that comes into our workshop has a story. Where it grew, how it was harvested, and how it got to us all matter. We carefully select timber that is sustainably harvested and traceable. This protects forests, wildlife, and the future of our craft. We source all our timber responsibly, following the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) standards. This means our customers can trust that every piece of wood they choose is ethically and sustainably produced, coming from well-managed forests that meet all of the necessary criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reducing Waste in the Workshop<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

In our workshop, we try to reduce wastage as much as possible. Careful planning and precise cutting help us make the most of every bit of timber. Offcuts are never thrown away. We re-use small pieces for smaller parts of our jobs. Respecting the material and using it fully is part of what makes our craft feel right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability Beyond Timber<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

While timber is the heart of our work, we also think about sustainably for every other material we use. Hardware, fittings, finishes, and adhesives are all chosen with sustainability in mind. We opt for low-VOC finishes and non-toxic oils to protect your home and the environment. Responsibly sourced hardware helps our work lasts for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also use glass in a way that supports our sustainability goals.<\/strong> When a project includes glazed doors, windows, or glass balustrades, we choose high quality glass safe and energy efficient. Good glass helps with insulation and reduces the need for artificial lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always Looking to Improve<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability is something we continue to work on. We regularly review our materials, suppliers, and workshop processes to see where we can improve. As better options become available, we look at how we can use them while still keeping the high standards our clients expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
